Atameken-Agro Signs DBK Agreement at Qyzyljar Investment Forum
Petropavl hosted the large-scale international Qyzyljar Investment Forum 2026, held as part of the celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the North Kazakhstan Region.
The forum brought together North Kazakhstan Region Akim Gauyez Nurmukhambetov, Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azat Sultanov, as well as investors and business representatives from Russia, Türkiye, China, Italy, Uzbekistan and Germany.
One of the key highlights of the forum was the signing of a preliminary agreement between Atameken-Agro Oils and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan in connection with the financing of a new oilseed crushing and extraction plant. The project is expected to create 252 new jobs.
Dmitry Kovalenko, Atameken-Agro Oils Director highlighted the project’s importance for the development of the region’s processing industry:
“North Kazakhstan currently faces a shortage of capacity for the deep processing of oilseeds. A significant share of the agricultural raw materials produced in the region is sold without further processing, meaning that a portion of the potential added value is generated outside the region. The construction of the new oilseed processing plant will become one of Atameken-Agro’s key investment projects aimed at expanding the deep processing of agricultural raw materials. The project will help create stable demand for oilseeds, increase the production of higher value-added products, strengthen the region’s export potential and generate new employment opportunities in North Kazakhstan.”
Qyzyljar Investment Forum 2026 became one of the region’s major business events of the year, providing an important platform for closer cooperation between government, business and international investors. The agreements reached during the forum open up new opportunities to attract investment, launch modern production facilities, create jobs and further strengthen the industrial and export potential of the North Kazakhstan Region.
