Atameken-Agro participated in the Asia Grains&Oils Conference Tashkent 2026.
On September 16–17, Tashkent hosted the VI International Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent 2026 — one of Central Asia’s key industry platforms for participants in the grain, oilseed, processing, and logistics sectors.
The conference brought together representatives of agribusinesses, trading and logistics companies, processors, and industry experts to discuss the outlook for the 2026/27 grain season, foreign trade development, new export routes, and further integration of Central Asia’s agricultural markets.
One of the highlights of the business programme was the panel discussion “Central Asia — A New Global Hub for Grain Logistics and Trade”.
Shukhrat Adilov, Director of Atameken-Agro Trade LLP, took part in the discussion. Together with representatives of the region’s leading agricultural and logistics companies, participants discussed the development of trade between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the state of railway infrastructure and border crossings, prospects for new export corridors, and the transition from exporting raw materials to higher value-added products.
Particular attention was paid to creating an integrated and sustainable system in Central Asia encompassing agricultural production, storage, processing, logistics, and trade.
According to Shukhrat Adilov, the region’s potential extends far beyond grain trade alone:
“I believe Central Asia can become Eurasia’s new food hub. This potential is shaping Atameken-Agro’s development strategy. We are steadily expanding our livestock and processing operations: increasing our cattle and horse herds, planning the development of dairy farms, launching an oil extraction plant project, and developing pulse processing and compound feed production.
For the agricultural sector to grow further, countries in the region need to find common ground and develop new markets together rather than compete in isolation. In recent years, Uzbekistan has significantly strengthened its position in pulse production and exports. At the same time, both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are located far from seaports and face similar logistical constraints. Synergy, the development of processing, and joint efforts to develop export routes can therefore lay the foundation for the region’s continued growth.”
The participants agreed that as production and mutual trade grow, the competitiveness of Central Asia’s agricultural sector will increasingly depend not only on production volumes, but also on the speed and cost of logistics, the development of processing capacity, the digitalisation of trade processes, and access to new export routes.
Participation in international industry events enables Atameken-Agro to strengthen engagement with Central Asia’s agricultural market participants, discuss promising areas of cooperation, and identify new opportunities to develop agricultural exports and processing.
