We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the sowing season for Atameken-Agro JSC in 2024!
Each new season presents us with an opportunity to yield a bountiful crop and contribute to securing food supplies in our region.
The planting season stands as a pivotal event for agricultural companies, occurring annually in spring. This year, the inaugural activities kicked off on April 24, 2024, at the subsidiary of our Holding - LLP "Shatilo and K". These initial plots, sown with leguminous crops (peas) and fodder grain mixtures, mark the outset of the active agricultural endeavors. By the morning of April 30, 2024, the sown area in this region had reached an impressive 8,404 hectares.
Presently, the sowing process is underway in other Holding entities, such as LLP "Atameken-Agro", LLP "Atameken-Agro-Korneevka", and LLP "Michurinsky". Their plans encompass the sowing of lentils, sunflowers, peas, and wheat. An additional 8,000-10,000 hectares are slated for sowing in the coming week, provided favorable conditions persist.
A notable feature of this season compared to the previous year is the substantial accumulation of moisture in the fields. Winter and spring weeds experienced rapid growth due to a significant surge in air temperature from April 15 to 21, reaching 28 degrees Celsius.
Several procedures have been implemented to ensure optimal yields. Primarily, measures for controlling soil moisture are being enacted to preserve it. Seeds undergo preparation and cleaning, with samples taken to assess seeding parameters like vigor, germination, and thousand-seed weight. Seed treatment safeguards crops from diseases and pests during germination.
A pivotal step in preparing for the planting season was the convening of a working meeting to assess readiness for the 2024 sowing season. The meeting addressed concerns regarding the availability of essential machinery, seeds, fertilizers, and plant protection agents. Requirements and key measures to be adhered to during planting were delineated to guarantee a successful process and achieve high yields.
